The Collection

I’m happy and proud to present the Fall/Winter ’12 GANT by Michael Bastian collection. This season is probably my most personal yet since it’s based on my memories of Boston while I went to university there; the friends I made and the style of the mid ’80s that seemed to be a perfect balance of classic preppy, sports utility (it’s cold there in the winters) and influences from the mod revival that was happening at the time. But I also wanted to add another layer to the collection – the concept of luck. Looking back, despite that we were all broke students, I think we always felt lucky to be together and to be able to share these experiences in this great city. And that feeling of being lucky – blessed somehow – has stuck with me. I’m also a believer in certain objects possessing good energy, whether it’s a sweater, a pair of socks or even a lucky coin. Not necessarily to pull luck towards you, but as a reminder to be open to the good things that are out there, waiting for you to discover. In that spirit, we’ve created a special coin that will be on the hangtag on every piece in the collection. I hope you save it as a reminder that luck is always around thecorner if you just look for it. Go out and find it, whatever that might mean to you. Here’s hoping that today is your lucky day too.

You are more than welcome to use GANT materials, but there are a few rules. First off, you may not – under any circumstances – use GANT images in advertisements or your own campaign material. Plus, you cannot modify or manipulate the material in any way without asking our Head Office for permission. And whenever we state who took the pictures, you must do the same when you republish the material.
